Rocky Plains believes our animals are healthy and happy when left to roam our properties to graze the natural grasses at whim. We also supplement their feed with our own hay, and after the last cutting, the hayfield is opened for natural grazing. Our bison gain weight naturally from free-choice grazing and do not need to be grain finished. Grain adds fat, whereas natural grasses add nutrients |

Our organization has been a member of the National Bison Association for many years. We believe that by working together, Bison producers can make a difference in the way our animals are raised to bring a safe, nutritious and consistent product to the public |

Do you know how long food stays on the grocery shelves? You may be surprised how long it takes a meat product to go from a live animal to your refrigerator. Colorado Proud means Rocky Plains, LLP brings you the freshest free-range bison, pork and chicken raised here in Colorado. |

We believe in the concept that ruminants were designed to eat a fibrous diet. Grass and other plants are natural for cud-chewing animals. When given the free-choice to roam and graze, the animals are naturally healthy and need no antibiotics to stay healthy. |

At Rocky Plains, LLP we encourage our customers to research the benefits all-natural, free-range meats provide. The website for the United States Department of Agriculture serves as an excellent resource. There you can search a database to find nutritional values for about any kind of food product. |
